OneDrive

Windows Live OneDrive is an online cloud computing tool attached to Microsoft's Windows Live group of services.  It is a powerful tool allowing the online creation and viewing of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote documents.  It allows single-user or simultaneous collaborative input into these documents and integrates with other Hotmail and Bing services.  With other free tools from Microsoft it also allows internet-based synchronization of files across multiple computers.

The look of Skydrive has changed since this video was made but the information contained in it is still good!

For our Network we use a consumer level account primarily as a file hosting service.  We originally obtained in order to deliver Digital Resources to people having problems recieving them via eMail.  Since then our plans for our skydrive have expanded because they allow us to store resources created by our Network members that they would like to share with the rest of us.  If you wish to make use of skydrive as a Teacher we recommend an Edu level account.

You can find our Skydrive here: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=0d641ad8750d17a5

We will be putting in 3 levels of access to our OneDrive.

The first level of access is for anyone who visits the Skydrive.  They can view and download the files we put there to their hearts content.  These are intended for any CRT who cares to use them.  No authentication of any kind is required to view and download these files.

The second level of access is for Network Members only or for accessing digital resources from one of our PD seminars or workshops.  In order to access these files you will need an MSN passport account or Windows Live! ID.  If you currently access MSN services like Hotmail or Xbox Live! you already have one of these.  If not you can sign up for one here.  We add permissions to folders using this so you simply sign in before or while visiting our OneDrive.

The third level of access is locked.  These are files that are awaiting publication to coincide with something else or files only intended for Wodonga CRT Support Network and not outside use.

If you do not have access to a given folder, Skydrive simply doesn't show it to you.  If you don't see folders you should, remember to sign in!  If you still don't see them, email us to help fix the problem!
